Kazakhstan State Secretary Marat Tazhin has met with U.S. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Kazakhstan Kenneth J. Fairfax in Akorda residence, Tengrinews.kz reports referring to Nazarbayev's press-serivce. The State Secretary congratulated the outgoing U.S. Ambassador on the completion of his tenure in Kazakhstan and appointment Deputy Executive Director of the International Energy Agency. They agreed that Kazakhstan and the United State achieved a high level of all-round strategic cooperation and established friendly relation and contact between the two countries' leaders. Summarizing the meeting Ambassador Fairfax said that he was content with the results of the joint work to advance the political and economic cooperation and furthering of the institutionalization of the Kazakhstan-American relations. After Kenneth J. Fairfax leaves Kazakhstan the current deputy head of mission Michael Klecheski will temporarily take over his position until ex-Ambassador to Kazakhstan John Ordway returns to Kazakhstan in October and take over from there also as a temporary chief of the mission. It is not yet known who will be appointed the new ambassador. Before his appointment to Kazakhstan Kenneth J. Fairfax used to serve as the Minister Counselor for Economic Affairs at the American Embassy in Baghdad, Principal Officer and Consul General at the U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, Krakow and Kiev.
